This blog began as a modern "baby book" for our first child, Finlay, who was born in December of 2010. The recent addition of Seamus, born in January of 2013, has meant continued efforts to put into words and pictures his early years. We also use this forum to catalog our family life: two loving partners, two beautiful kids, car-free, child-centred, attachment-focused, with a love of food and health thrown into the mix!

Finlay is a Crawler!

It's official!  Finlay is a crawler.  As of yesterday, Fin decided to use he knees in combination with his hands and get moving!  Tyler and I kept saying, we're in no rush for him to crawl, but he was so close for so long and we're glad that he is feeling like he can get to where he wants to go.

It's funny, many milestones sneak up on you.  Suddenly, seemingly overnight, the baby can sit, giggle, babble, give hugs and kisses, clap...  But crawling seemed to take a while.  Well, it's a pretty big skill and requires a lot of strength and coordination - we were underestimating how much work crawling can be!  Well, we have a crawling baby, so close to toddling and then....  sigh.... no more baby and we make way for the toddler!

But, let's observe the present.  I got a video of the crawling today.  It's a little out of focus because he came right at me with the crawling and I wasn't prepared!  But, you get the idea.  Enjoy!
