About Us

Victoria, BC, Canada
This blog began as a modern "baby book" for our first child, Finlay, who was born in December of 2010. The recent addition of Seamus, born in January of 2013, has meant continued efforts to put into words and pictures his early years. We also use this forum to catalog our family life: two loving partners, two beautiful kids, car-free, child-centred, attachment-focused, with a love of food and health thrown into the mix!

Family Photos

December 26, 2010

We hope that you all enjoyed your holidays!  We had a wonderful Christmas with Nans, Gramps and Uncle Chris!  There was lots of Finlay cuddling, delicious food, presents and family time.  Fin took his first trip to the Ocean with his grandparents and uncle while mum and dad had a much needed nap.

A few days ago, a very nice and talented friend came and took some family photos of us.  As promised, here they are!

The happy family of three!

The newest member!  The Harveys, Tyler and little Finlay!

Mummy, Gramps, and a sleeping Finlay.

Love, love, love!

I love this picture!  Uncle Chris, the new mum, and Fin.

Family on the Island

Just a quick update.  Lyndze's Mom, Dad and brother Chris have made there way to the island and they are having lots of fun just hanging out with Finlay, walking around the city and enjoying some good food and great beer.  Not a bad holiday.   We had a friend Andrew come and take some family photographs for us that are a little more professional than what you have seen here.  While we wait to get those sorted and developed here are some more pics of our favorite little guy.   I have been a little short on time so I have not put my usual witty banter in between the pics.. but I am sure you will survive!

Finlay is doing very well. He is getting lots of love from his family and getting lots of rest and growing growing growing.

We wish you all a happy holiday and we will talk with you all soon!

Finlay being weighed again.  He seems to really enjoy this procedure AND he has gained a bit of weight again. woo hoo!
Great Aunt Chris and Great Uncle Mike.  They live up Island and came down to visit us for the day!
Dad and Finlay just hanging out together.
Nans and Gramps came to the Island and came by with a whole bunch of Lebanese food for us to enjoy.  We also toasted with some Champagne and had a wonderful evening.
Here is  Dr. Gramps Harvey giving Finlay his very first adjustment.
Apparently things were in pretty good shape but Finlay seemed to feel pretty good afterwards

Gramps enjoying some quality time with Fin.  It may have been better is someone could keep his camera out of their faces.
Finlay loves any chance to make eye contact with you.

Great aunt Chris with Finlay
Chris and Mike letting me take one more picture before they hit the road back up Island. They wanted to leave but I insisted upon a few more "oh isn't he cute" and "how precious" comments before they were allowed to leave.
There have not been too many pictures of Mom and Finlay but they have been getting plenty of time to hang out and hug and love one another.  So cute!

Mom and Finlay relaxing together on the couch.
Now we get to some pics of Nans and Finlay.  You can tell that Nans is just in love with this little guy.  We are already talking about next time they can get out here or when we can get to Ontario.
Lots of Nans love

Look at those three!
ooooooooh... so cute!

I think he is getting annoyed with being woken up to the sound of the shutter.

new pics.... because we know that's what you want

We went for a very short walk outside with Fin.  It was a gorgeous day and we could not stop ourselves from taking advantage of it. Even if just for a little while.
To celebrate Fin's entry into our world we decided to start to make a sourdough culture on the day he was born that we will try and keep for as long as possible to mark the very special environment that was around the day he was born.
Finlay helped by kneading the bread with his feet.  Yum yum!
Another pic of us on a walk about!
So cute.  I love the hat he has on . It is hard to see in this pic but it is a really cute purple owl hat.  I think it was made on Salt Spring Island
Uta came by for a check up and did a foot print for us too!
What a cute little (big) foot!

What a cutie all wrapped up in his bassinet...
Here is the foot prints we made. I put a pen beside so as to give you some reference to size.
